What types of jobs will be created?

1. Start Up Businesses

The studios in the mixed-use Millennium Mill and in the office buildings will provide working space for those who are starting a new business. Some spaces will be rented out to local businesses which will be funded by the Good Growth Fund.

2. Retail workers

Provision of spaces in the mixed-use Millennium Mill will provide a whole range of job opportunities in the retail sector at different skill levels. For example, young adults, living in Britannia Village, could work close to home.

3. Specialised jobs for artists, musicians, painters

Studios and exhibition halls will be provided in Silo D and in the museum which can be occupied by those who have an interest in art&design. This space will be available for bookings if, for example, a well-known art exhibition will take place.

4. Maintenance staff

Provision of open areas as well as the inner courtyards in the residential buildings will require some workers to look after and maintain the area. This will provide jobs for those who live nearby, as well as some skilled workers, for example, electricians.

5. Seasonal jobs (Leisure facilities)

Job opportunities during the summer time can provide volunteering for teenagers in the amphitheatre and guiding tours around the Docklands for tourists.

6. Hospitality jobs

Provision of cafes and restaurants in the mixed-use Millennium Mill will create job opportunities

for waiters, chefs and

waitresses.
