SOCIAL INFRASTRUCTURE
For health and well-being we have used the Silo D park for running and cycle routes.

Another form of infrastructure to promote social interaction is the multi-purpose bund seating along the dock edge. Not only does this create a sense of vitality and 'eyes on the street' but also aims to add vibrancy and character to the development and make the most of the beautiful dock waters.

Within the Mill itself we have high rise seating incorporated into the cafe and restaurant units for further social infrastructure, as well as an added form of surveillance on the well lit Mill Square throughout both day and night.

ENSURING LOCAL JOBS FOR LOCAL PEOPLE
We have ensured there are areas within the development compliment the enterprise zone, inviting SMB's and start-up businesses.
These units will range in size and price with some units at more affordable prices than others.

The public Mill Square is also another example of how we have incorporated local jobs into our development. The street will be a level, cobblestone surface to host market events or small scale vendors to accommodate for the business people from the offices during their lunch hour. This would encourage people to stay in the social hub for longer.
We also hope to encourage more technology based start-ups that can be supported by the LCIF (London Co-Investment Fund). These start-up's would be more directed towards the office sector to the south of the development.

TRAINING AND SKILLS
We have included studios within the Millennium Mill to encourage students from local universities to bring their skills to the local area. The units are designed to be social and encourage the sharing of ideas and skills.

To further encourage training and skill sharing, the multi-use amphitheatre can be used to host events to further community knowledge.
We would also like to focus the skill set of the commercial units to technology to accommodate to the rising need in London. This will invite bigger businesses into the area who would offer internships and jobs to the local people.

OPEN SPACES FOR A RANGE OF USES
There are many points within the development that are versatile and multiuse open spaces, such as the previously mentioned Mills Square.
One key area is the floating amphitheatre, with staircase seating and a performance area, with bad weather sheltering for performers.
We recognised the Royal Docks community were very active and so space was also designed for activities and events such as water sports in the summer and evening music or dance performances, in addition to general seating areas during the daytime.

Other public activities include the yearly commissioned public art, much like that seen in the Serpentine Galleries. Shown is the 2014 public exhibition.
